CONCRETE RESURFACING FAQ

It is a thin cementitious overlay bonded onto your existing slab, with a pattern cut or stencilled into it and the whole surface sealed. It is not paint and it is not pavers — it becomes part of the concrete rather than sitting loose on top of it.

Done properly, 15 to 20 years and more. The decorative layer is not the weak point — the preparation underneath it is. Re-seal every 3 to 5 years and a resurfaced driveway will outlast the fence.

Usually a third to a half of the cost of a rip-out and re-pour, and it is finished in days instead of weeks. There is no excavator, no spoil removal, no formwork and no 28-day wait for a new slab to cure.

Nearly always. Hairline, shrinkage and settlement cracks are cut out, filled and stitched before anything decorative goes down. If the slab is heaving, has lost the base underneath it, or has broken into pieces that move independently, it needs replacing rather than covering.

It works on any slab that is structurally sound and drains properly, indoors or out. What it cannot do is fix a slab that is moving — an overlay is a surface, not a structure.

Most residential driveways are 2 to 3 days on site — prep day, application day, seal day. Larger areas, heavy repairs or wet weather stretch it out, and the actual timeline is written into your quote.

Foot traffic after about 24 hours. Cars back on after 5 to 7 days depending on the weather. Keep turning wheels off it for the first fortnight — dry-steering a stationary car scuffs any new surface.

We do not lay or seal in the wet, so a rain day moves the schedule rather than compromising the finish. You will hear from us the morning it happens, not after.

An earthy Australian range — terracotta, brick red-brown, tan, sand, ochre, warm brown, mushroom, mid grey and charcoal — with grout lines in white, light grey, mid grey or charcoal. We bring physical samples and look at them against your house in daylight.

Not the way we lay it. The finish is a coloured, finely textured concrete surface with crisp cut lines — it reads as tile or stone-look concrete, not as moulded plastic-looking imitation rock.

No. Pool surrounds and sloped driveways get a non-slip additive through the seal coat and a texture chosen for bare feet. We wet the surface and walk it with you before we leave.

The lighter colours stay noticeably cooler through a Brisbane summer, which is why we steer pool surrounds and barefoot areas away from dark charcoal regardless of how it looks in photos.

It depends far more on slab condition and pattern than on area, so we do not publish a rate. As a guide it runs a third to a half of replacement. We measure it on site and give you a written itemised price with a start date.

Hose it down like any concrete, and re-seal every 3 to 5 years — closer to three in full sun or near salt air. Book the re-seal before the surface chalks and it is a cheap day of work.
