WHAT CONCRETE RESURFACING COSTS IN BRISBANE
We do not publish a square-metre rate, because the honest number depends on the condition of your slab far more than its size. What we can do is show you exactly what moves the price, so the quote you get makes sense.
Resurfacing generally runs a third to a half of the cost of removing and re-pouring the same area. Beyond that, anyone quoting you a firm rate over the phone has not seen the thing they are pricing.

The variables
THE SIX THINGS THAT MOVE THE PRICE
In rough order of impact on a residential job.
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Slab condition | Preparation is the largest labour item. A sound slab needs a grind; a cracked, spalled or previously coated one needs cutting out, filling and stitching first. |
| Area | Larger areas cost more in total but less per square metre — set-up, masking and mobilisation are close to fixed. |
| Pattern complexity | A straight square grid is quick. A 45° diamond wastes more material at the edges. Bush rock, octagon and custom motifs are hand-cut work. |
| Number of colours | A single base with grout lines is standard. Two-tone, borders and inlaid motifs each add a masking and application pass. |
| Access | A wheelbarrow run down a side path, stairs, or no truck access all add labour that a wide open driveway does not. |
| Existing coatings | Old sealer or paint that has failed has to come off before anything new goes down. This is the most common source of surprise cost. |

Being blunt
WHERE PEOPLE WASTE MONEY ON CONCRETE
The cheapest quote on a resurfacing job is almost always the one that skips the grind. Preparation is invisible once the colour goes on, which makes it the easiest thing to leave out — and the reason a coating lifts after two wet summers.
The second is resurfacing a slab that should have been replaced. A skim coat over a heaving or hollow slab buys you a year, and then you pay for both jobs.
The third is leaving sealing until the surface has already chalked. Re-sealing on a three to five year cycle is a cheap day of work; a driveway left a decade needs the full treatment again.
What happens
HOW OUR QUOTING ACTUALLY WORKS
You ring or send the form, and we come out — usually within 48 hours anywhere in Brisbane, Logan or Ipswich. We measure the area, sound the slab, check the falls, moisture-test where it matters and look at access.
Then you get a written, itemised price with a start date on it. Not a range, not a number that moves when the truck arrives. If we find something under the surface once we start, we ring you before we spend your money.

COMMON QUESTIONS

ASK US — 0404 859 045
How much does concrete resurfacing cost per square metre in Brisbane?
It depends far more on slab condition and pattern than on area, so we do not publish a rate. As a guide, resurfacing generally costs a third to a half of removing and re-pouring the same area, and we give you a written itemised price after measuring it.
Is resurfacing cheaper than a new concrete driveway?
Yes, substantially — there is no excavation, no spoil removal, no formwork and no new concrete. It is also finished in days rather than weeks.
Do you charge for a quote or a call-out?
No. Quotes are free and travel is included anywhere in our service area across Greater Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Redlands and Moreton Bay.
What makes one resurfacing quote cheaper than another?
Usually the preparation. Grinding, crack repair and priming are invisible in the finished job and are the first things a cheap quote leaves out — and they are exactly what decides whether the surface is still there in fifteen years.
Can the price change once you start?
Only if we find something we could not see, and we ring you before doing anything about it. The quote is itemised so you can see precisely what changed and why.
